Following Divine Liturgy, the crowd went in procession, blessed and headed by Patriarch Ignatius, to Saint Georgios Hall, where the regional Sheikh joined the celebrations.

Important words were expressed in speeches pronounced by :

  • His Beatitude, who said, I am proud to see faithful living as a family…The Church's history began after the Lord's Resurrection which transformed Christ's Body into a family. We are the land and earth of this country. As a community, (and community has never a negative echo, because everyone belongs to some community, only those who exploit community and religion are at blame), we are working on development for the benefit of our people and sons, and by sons we mean all those who are living with us in this country…”
  • The Sheikh of Arbeen who said: “…We need not to come closer to each other as citizens, because we are really one entity, diversified but united…”.
  • Father Daniel who said: “… Although Arbeen parishioners are less numerous in Damascus, they will be indeed the most active and effective…”.
